Brandon Skopek

Brandon Skopek is the Director of Authorities with the City of Auburn Hills.

Brandon has spent his career in local government as a planning and economic development professional. He started his career in local government in Highland Township, Michigan where he served as the Township Planner. Before transitioning to the City of Auburn Hills he served as the Assistant to the City Manager / Downtown Development Authority Coordinator for the City of Brighton, Michigan where he led Brighton’s first comprehensive Master Plan update and oversaw its implementation. He also served as the project manager for the redevelopment of Downtown Brighton’s Millpond Bandshell and Amphitheater and was instrumental in the redevelopment of vacant properties downtown.

Brandon’s responsibilities in Auburn Hills include economic development activities through the City’s Tax Increment Finance Authority and the Brownfield Redevelopment Authority, in addition to his focus on Downtown Auburn Hills with the Downtown Development Authority.

Brandon’s professional interests include economic development, community engagement, and local government management. Brandon possess a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration and Public Policy, and a Master of Public Administration, both from Oakland University.
