Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Day
 
The Auburn Hills Household Hazardous Waste Day Collection and Electronic Recycling is a free annual event for Auburn Hills residents to dispose of hazardous waste and unwanted electronic devices. Information about this event is published in the Auburn Hills Review, and sent out in your April utility bill. Please see attached document below for more details. Proof of residency is required. 


The 2018 Hazardous Waste Day was held on May 19, 2018. Stay tuned for information about the 2019 Household Hazardous Waste Day Collection. 


Hazardous Waste Examples

***IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING PAINT***
 
Latex or water-based paints will NOT be accepted because they are NOT hazardous waste.  ALL water-based paint can be solidified by opening and letting it dry or using kitty litter, sand or some other absorbent.  Once solid, cans (without lids) can be disposed of with regular household garbage.  Empty  paint cans, with only a thin film of dried paint can be recycled with metals.  Click on link below for more information.
