Memorial Tree and Bench Program

The City Memorial Tree and Bench program was initiated in 1990 by the Beautification Advisory Commission and offers individuals and families an opportunity to commemorate the life of a loved one through a living memorial- the planting of a tree in one of the city parks or other public spaces. In recent years, memorial benches placed in City Parks have become a second option for memorials. Please click this link for more information on how to get involved with this program!

Hawk Woods Lodge  – Now available for year round use!

The two-story log cabin Lodge at the E. Dale Fisk Hawk Woods Nature Center is now available to rent and use year round.  In an effort to provide more recreational and educational opportunities for the community during the winter, the city recently installed a small, forced-air furnace in the Lodge that takes the chill right out of the air to make it comfortable to use in all four seasons.

This unique facility, located in what seems like the middle of the woods up-north, is an ideal place for off-site business meetings, birthday parties, and family get-togethers – and it’s now available all year long!  The Lodge is an affordable and unique alternative for your next outing - just call the Parks & Recreation office at 248-370-9353 to inquire about availability. Lodge hourly rentals rates are Resident: $15, Non Resident, $20. Deposit $50. Click HERE for additional information.
