A Message From The Chief

DOREENOLKOPORTRAIT WebWelcome to our website!  As the Director of Emergency Services/Chief of Police, I would like to thank you for your interest in learning more about the Auburn Hills Police Department.  I hope you will also take a few minutes to click over to the page of the Auburn Hills Fire Department.

It is my honor to serve as Director of Emergency Services/Chief of Police in the City of Auburn Hills, a vibrant and diverse community with a rich history and an exciting future.

Through collaborative problem solving with the community and aggressive pursuit of law violators, the Auburn Hills Police Department endeavors to keep our community safe and secure. Our tradition of Community Policing means that we listen to what you have to say. We respond to concerns and seek long-term solutions to neighborhood problems and challenges. Our staff, both sworn and non-sworn, are well trained, well equipped and committed to serving our great community.

Every day of the year, our 53 sworn officers are on the ready and prepared to respond quickly to emergencies throughout our City.  Last year we received 21,898 9-1-1 emergency calls and of those we responded to over 18,640 calls for service. As a result of the excellent work done by our employees and through collaboration with citizens and community groups, we had an exceptional crime clearance rate in many categories last year. While challenges remain in some areas, I am confident we are on the right track.

The men and women of the Auburn Hills Police Department and the Auburn HIlls Fire Department are committed to serving you – our customer. Whether you live or work in Auburn Hills or are just visiting, you should know that we stand ready to serve. Of course, we cannot do it alone. We need your help in reporting suspicious activity and crime, becoming and remaining involved in your neighborhoods and sharing information with us to preserve order and safety.

Our Value Statement truly defines our Department's Philosophy:

"We value service as the foundation of this Department.  Striving for excellence using efficiency as our guide, emphasizing that the only service which we will not perform is poor service...."

I am proud to serve as this community. On behalf of the 71 members of the Auburn Hills Police Department and the 56 members of the Auburn Hills Fire Department  thank you for working with us to make Auburn Hills a great place to live and work.

Serving with Pride in Michigan and OUR community,

Doreen E. Olko
