Attention Auburn Hills Residents:
City Council has approved a new plan to help allow residents to avoid having solicitors knocking on their doors. It is formally called the “No Soliciting” plan, but at City Hall we call it the “No Knock” list! Here is how it works. Each household that wants to avoid door to door solicitors can sign up to be on a list that we will distribute to each vendor or peddler when they register with the City. If your address is on that list they are not allowed to solicit at your house. We will not distribute names or phone numbers, of course. An entire subdivision can sign up by having their homeowner’s association send us a letter or email. They will be listed as “Suchandsuch Subdivision”. If someone comes to your door and you are on the list, you can call the police department’s non-emergency number to report it, and the solicitor will be contacted.
We have an awesome sticker for your storm door or mailbox or window; someplace easily noticed by the salespeople. You can pick up a sticker for free at City Hall from 8 am to 5 pm weekdays, and at the Library during their regular hours, which are Mon-Thurs, 10AM-9PM, Fri-Sat, 10AM-6PM, or at the Community Center, regular hours Mon - Friday 8AM - 9PM, Saturday 10AM - 9PM. You must fill out a form to get a sticker. Please note that we cannot mail the stickers.
