The Auburn Hills Police Department's Directed Patrol Unit will be concentrating on the following areas in the upcoming weeks:
Opdyke Corridor
Since the reduction of accidents is our main goal, we will be working many special details along Opdyke Road. Intersections along this road account for the majority of accidents that occur within the City. Officers will be watching intersections for red light violations, running radar for speeding violations and will be strictly enforcing seat belt usage violations. Please make a point of driving safely and help us reduce the number of accidents occurring along this roadway.Opdyke at University
Accidents occur at this intersection too often. Enforcement details will be focused on motorist who run the red light, follow too close and fail to wear seat belts.
Harmon at Lapeer
This intersection also has accidents occurring too often. Enforcement details will be focused on motorist who run the red light, follow too close and fail to wear seat belts.
Baldwin near I-75
High rates of accidents along this section of Baldwin Road are the cause of enforcement action in this area. Officer will be targeting aggressive drivers who follow too close, red light violations and improper lane usage.
Squirrel north of Walton
Traffic travels too fast along this section of Squirrel Road. Due to the construction along Walton we anticipate increased traffic in this area. As we want to avoid a rise in traffic accident we will be strictly enforcing speed violation in this area.
Neighborhood Streets
We will be working special enforcement details in the Bloomfield Orchards Subdivision, The Canadian Subdivision and along neighborhood streets connecting to Walton Boulevard in the coming weeks. These details will enforce speeding violations.
Bald Mountain Road
Traffic travels too fast along this section of Bald Mountain Road. Due to the construction along Walton we anticipate increased traffic in this area. As we want to avoid a rise in traffic accident we will be strictly enforcing speed violation in this area.
