Community Engagement
challenge-coin-2017-01The Auburn Hills Police Department has long prided itself on a robust community policing philosophy. This type of policing allows citizens to have a stake in the differences that are made by law enforcement officers in this community on a daily basis. The goal of community policing is to better integrate public service professionals with the people that they serve through education, community engagement events and personal relationships. The Auburn Hills Police Department offers a wide variety of opportunities to get in involved with the department, below are the current available opportunities.

Citizen's Police Academy
The Citizen's Police Academy is an interactive 8 week academy where participants are able to experience the behinds the scenes aspects of Law Enforcement. This program affords the opportunity to learn about all divisions of the police department, all special assignments and units and allows participants to practice what they learn as officers in scenario based training. The academy is free to attend and dinner and uniform will be provided. Applications are available here and should be returned to Community Engagement Officer Sears by August 26th.

The CPA takes place each Thursday evening on the following dates:
Thursday September 15th - Thursday November 3rd
6:00pm - 8:00pm

Public Safety Community Room
1899 N. Squirrel Rd.,
Auburn Hills, MI 48326

The CPA is made possible in part by a generous donation from TI Fluids Systems.

Any questions about community engagement opportunities or requests to become more involved with AHPD should be directed to Community Engagement Officer Sears.
