Welcome to the Treasurer's Department

Our goal is financial stability for the residents of Auburn Hills.

The Treasurer’s Department serves as the central location for all revenue collections, deposits, and investments.  We are also responsible for the billing and collection of property taxes, and distribution of all receipts (taxes, water and sewer, and all other revenues) of the City on a daily basis.

Our department also facilitates and oversees the maintenance of the financial accounting records for the City.
We coordinate and prepare the City's Annual Multi-Year Budget. We maintain all of the financial records, payroll, benefits, pension, and trust fund records, accounts payable, and annual audit reports.

We ensure the City conducts the proper compliance reports for state and federal agencies, as well as coordinate with the City Manager, City Council, and external auditors on risk management, insurance, and debt issuance programs for our Annual Financial Report.

Can I make payments at the Treasurer's counter?

We are open to the public.
Physical payments can be placed in either of our convenient drop boxes (located in the front city hall parking lot and on the city hall building to the left of the doors) and as always, online payments are welcome at any time.

Our office can process the following payments:

  • Water and sewer usage bills
  • Property taxes
  • Invoices and assessments
  • Accounts receivable
  • Parking tickets
  • Dog licenses (starting December 2022)

We accept all forms of payment (cash, check, credit and debit card) at the counter.

Please Note: Fees do apply and you must provide a photo ID when you use a credit or debit card.
