Fatal Crash

EB-59 to NB Squirrel Road

On Saturday, July 19th, 2014 at 11:59 a.m. personnel from the Auburn Hills Emergency Services Police/Fire responded to eastbound M-59 and the ramp to north bound Squirrel Road on a report of a motor vehicle crash.

Preliminary investigation reveals that a Blue 2008 Ford Escape ran off the ramp into a wooded area. The driver, a 26 year old West Bloomfield man was pronounced dead on scene.

Investigators from the South Oakland County Crash Investigation Team (SOCCIT) comprised of crash investigators from Auburn Hills, Troy, and Bloomfield Township Police Departments are investigating the crash.  It is unknown if alcohol or drugs were a factor.

The crash was reported by witnesses who were on scene. However, at this time the investigation on the cause of the crash on going.
