Residential Structure Fire at 846 Provincetown

The Auburn Hills Fire Department was dispatched to 846 Provincetown Rd for a residential structure fire, with a report of smoke visible inside the residence and outside near the natural gas meter. The home was vacant at the time of the fire and called in by a contractor working in the home.
Fire personnel from Bloomfield Township, Rochester Hills, and Rochester City assisted the Auburn Hills Fire Department on the scene. Fire personnel quickly extinguished the fire which had been confined to an exterior wall behind the metal siding of the home. The home suffered moderate fire damage to the exterior wall of the residence. The Auburn Hills Police Department assisted with crowd control and traffic, and fire personnel from Rochester Hills and Rochester City assisted with city coverage.
The home did have working smoke detectors at the time of the fire. It is reported that the 27-year-old male contractor working in the home was alerted by smoke detectors and noticed smoke in the residence. He then exited the residence and called 911 to report the fire.
No injuries were reported by the contractor or fire personnel who responded to the incident. This incident is currently under investigation.
