Press Release: Police Investigating Apparent Drug Overdose Deaths

On Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at 4:36pm the Auburn Hills Police Department responded to the Baymont Hotel, 1294 N. Opdyke, to check the well being of a female. Officers responded to the room where the female was believed to be, and upon entering, located 3 deceased persons, and one person unconscious but breathing. The Auburn Hills Fire Department responded and provided medical assistance to the unconscious subject who was then transported to the hospital, he is currently listed in stable condition.

An investigation is underway to determine the circumstances and causes of death, but preliminarily it appears to be a drug overdose. No signs of foul play were found at the scene.

Found dead at the scene was a 17-year-old female from Rochester Hills, and 2 brothers age 18 and 19, also from Rochester Hills. The hospitalized subject, age 20, is from Lake Orion.

Auburn Hills Police have responded on 2 other overdose calls in the past 24 hours. Those calls resulted in the subjects fortunately being revived. We would like to urge the public to be incredibly mindful of the substances they utilize as it is extremely heartbreaking to speak to the loved ones and explain that their son or daughter is deceased due to careless drug use.
