The Auburn Hills Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect(s) responsible for damaging vehicle windows with a BB/Pellet Gun or other unknown projectile. There is no evidence that a firearm was used in any of these incidents. From Friday (2/7/14) evening to Sunday (2/9/14) evening (6) vehicles had a window damaged in and around Auburn Hills. Three of these incidents occurred within the City of Auburn Hills and three of them occurred just outside of our border with Pontiac and Orion Twp.
The Auburn Hills Police have had four other similar incidents occur from 1/5/14 to 1/23/14. In all of these cases there has been no evidence that the projectile which caused the damage came from a firearm. Several of the occupants reported driving down the road and their window just shattering or breaking. In one case a passenger reported a minor cut on an arm from shattered glass but otherwise there have been no other injuries.
Locations of incidents include:
- Baldwin Rd. between Brown Rd. and Great Lakes Crossing Dr.
- M-59, between Opdyke Rd. and Adams Rd.
- South Blvd. near I-75
- Squirrel Rd. between Auburn Rd. and M-59
- Walton Blvd. near Squirrel Rd.
A possible suspect vehicle reported in a few of the cases is described as a dark-colored or black 4 door car, possibly a Ford Fusion or Dodge Neon.
